We have hosted many competitions as a way to bring the community together and talk about an issue. Or just have fun! One year, we organized a toy competition, to highlight the innovating and creative toys the students made for themselves.

Cultural and Family Issues

With the Malambo Women, we have hosted a variety of workshops on topics close to the hearts of locals. As we serve buns and juice, the events are social but also educational as we have brought in guest facilitators and speakers to discuss topics such as gender issues, rights of the child, child abuse, marital relations, inheritance, agriculture, the environment, AIDS, and alcohol abuse. The talks are in the local language and often broadcast on the radio.
